Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 29, 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and Courtroom Co-Pilot ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Courtroom Co-Pilot™ case-organizer service (the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
The Service is a software tool that helps users organize information related to a family-court case — timelines, witnesses, evidence, court forms, and similar records — and generate organized reports. The Service is a single-user license tied to a single case. A new case requires a new purchase.
The Service is not legal advice and we are not your attorney. Outputs are informational and organizational only. You are responsible for verifying any information before submitting it to a court or relying on it for any legal purpose.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Payment, billing, and refunds (Paddle as Merchant of Record)
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment terms, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
See our Refund Policy for the refund window and how to request a refund.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Submit content you do not have the right to use.
- Send spam, malware, or commit fraud through the Service.
- Probe, scan, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
- Share, resell, or transfer your account or single-user license.
6. Intellectual property
We retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all software, documentation, design, and branding (including the "Courtroom Co-Pilot™" and "Statement of Facts Report™" marks). We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your personal organization of a single case during your subscription term. You retain ownership of the case content you enter.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You materially breach these Terms;
- Your payment is reversed, charged back, or otherwise fails;
- We reasonably suspect fraud, security risk, or misuse; or
- You repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable-use rules.
You may stop using the Service at any time.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. fraud, death, or personal injury).
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Privacy
See our Privacy Notice for how we handle personal data.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
